WWE Mixed Match Challenge – Round Three – Alexa Bliss & Braun Strowman v Asuka & The Miz – Thoughts & Predictions

The semi finals get underway next week in the Mixed Match Challenge, with the first match-up being Alexa Bliss and Braun Strowman against Asuka and the Miz.

Who Wins?

The whole undefeated streak with Asuka has dragged on for far too long now. Bliss and Strowman seem to be everybody’s favourite team, as they are mine, so I am going to have to go for those two to win it.

Match Predictions

As I previously said, this Asuka streak needs to end asap. If Miz loses, then they can at least say she is still undefeated as a singles competitor, until Wrestlemania.

Bliss and Strowman are both booked strong on their brands, and they should have Strowman bully the Miz, as it would be what you’d expect on RAW everyweek.

I think they probably will go the route of Strowman beating Miz, as it looks like Asuka is scared of facing Bliss by going over to Smackdown Live to challenge Charlotte for her title.

WWE Mixed Match Challenge – Round Two – Bobby Roode & Charlotte Flair v Rusev & Lana – Predictions & Thoughts

Round two of the Mixed Match Challenge continues this week, with Bobby Roode and Charlotte Flair taking on the husband and wife team of Rusev and Lana.

Who Wins?

I would be shocked if anybody other than Roode and Flair will win this match. Both are champions heading into Fastlane this weekend and they are facing Rusev and Lana (who hasn’t wrestled on TV in months bar the MMC).

Match Predictions

I do not think this match will be amazing, but I think the WWE Universe will get behind Rusev and Lana with his gimmick.

I think Flair will pin Lana, as it won’t look good if the women’s champ is losing to someone who doesn’t wrestle regularly.

Roode and Rusev are quite evenly matched, if you ask me.

WWE Fastlane 2018 – AJ Styles v Dolph Ziggler v Sami Zayn v Kevin Owens v Baron Corbin v John Cena – WWE Championship Match – Predictions & Thoughts

Thoughts

Many people will say that this is going to be the match of the weekend, I would agree, if they get enough time to perform.

There are a lot of very talented superstars in this match and also the chance to start some feuds on the run up to Wrestlemania.

Zayn v Owens seems a certainty for a Wrestlemania feud at this point and that would be a great match.

Styles should retain, or else the whole WWE Universe is going to be disappointed if anybody else does, as that is the match that everybody wants to see.

Predictions

As much as I would love for either Zayn or Owens to win, it has to be Styles to set up the dream match against Nakamura at Wrestlemania.

This could be a great match, with several talented superstars involved in it.

WWE Fastlane 2018 – Charlotte Flair v Ruby Riott – Smackdown Women’s Championship Match – Predictions & Thoughts

Thoughts

This match seems destined to be full of interferences sadly, but I do hope that I am wrong and it’s a good match.

It seems that the Riott Squad will be allowed at ringside, and without any backup for Flair, then it seems near impossible that she retains.

Having outside interference may also effect how good people think that the match is.

If the Riott squad are suddenly banned from ringside, this match would be a lot better, I think.

Predictions

I think that Flair will defend on her title, but I do not think that it will be the most amazing match ever.

If there is no outside interference, the it will allow the two to build a better story.

WWE Fastlane 2018 – Rusev v Shinsuke Nakamura – Predictions & Thoughts

Thoughts

This could be one of the best matches on the card, with two of the best superstars on the Smackdown Live roster competing in it.

With it known that Nakamura will face the WWE Champion at Wrestlemania, after he won the Royal Rumble, it does not seem that this feud will last long.

The crowd are fully behind the Rusev day gimmick, so they may get behind him slightly more in this match.

This could be the match of the night, if booked well.

Predictions

I think that Nakamura will win, but I do think that WWE will be booking Rusev very strongly.

As I keep saying, if booked right this could be the match of the weekend.

WWE Fastlane 2018 – Bobby Roode v Randy Orton – United States Championship Match – Predictions & Thoughts

Thoughts

This could be a good match, if two veterans are given the chance to have a good length match.

Both superstars are seemingly well liked by the crowd, so it will be interesting to see who they treat as the face.

It seems WWE are trying to make Orton the heel, but he still gets cheered.

I Orton wins the belt, then this is another feud that could end up continuing at Wrestlemania.

Predictions

I think Bobby Roode will retain the United States Championship.

I think it will be a good match, but I do not think Roode should drop the title, having just won it.

WWE Fastlane 2018 – The New Day vs The Usos – Smackdown Tag Team Championship Match – Predictions & Thoughts

Thoughts

This is a match up between two teams who had great matches last year, in a feud that lasted for a few months.

If the New Day are to win, it could potentially create another feud between the two teams.

Both teams are very good but, per usual, the numbers advantage in the New Day’s favour could help them.

If this match is anything like their previous few, then we are in for a good match and possibly a good storyline in the long term.

Predictions

I think that the New Day will win this match as I, for one, would love to see another feud between these two teams.

The interesting thing will be to see if the third member of New Day is involved.

WWE Fastlane 2018 – Becky Lynch & Naomi v Natalya & Carmella – Predictions & Thoughts

Thoughts

Becky Lynch and Naomi will face Natalya and Carmella at Fastlane, with it looking like this match may be a card filler.

Carmella may cash in when Charlotte faces Ruby Riott, but I am unsure as to what she will do in this match.

The other three superstars have not really done much on Smackdown as of late, Naomi and Lynch have both been involved with the Riott squad, so maybe a match between those two teams would have made more sense.

Natalya won the Women’s Championship from Naomi at Summerslam last year, but has not done much since she lost it to Charlotte.

Predictions

I think that Lynch and Naomi will win, as I think Carmella may walk out of the match and leave Natalya to fend for herself.

That may then allow them two to start their own feud, whilst at the same time, giving the face team the win.

WWE Mixed Match Challenge – Round Two – Alexa Bliss & Braun Strowman v Naomi & Jimmy Uso – Thoughts and Predictions

The second round of the Mixed Match Challenge is now well and truly underway.

Week one saw Asuka and the Miz defeat Sasha Banks and Finn Balor.

Who Wins?

I think that Strowman and Bliss should win the match, however with the lack of Smackdown superstars left, I would not be surprised to see Naomi and Jimmy win.

Match Predictions

I cannot see them making Strowman look weak in this match, especially considering he eliminated five of the six other men in the Elimination Chamber.

Bliss also won the Chamber match, so it would also be pointless to make her look weak.

Jimmy Uso is one half of the tag team champions, yet he hasn’t been built as strong as Strowman.

Naomi has not really done much since she lost the Smackdown Women’s Championship.

2018 WWE Elimination Chamber – RAW Tag-Team Championships – Cesaro & Sheamus v Apollo Crews & Titus O’Neil – Thoughts & Predictions

It wasn’t announced until today, but the RAW tag-team titles will be on the line, as Sheamus and Cesaro defend their titles against Apollo Crews and Titus O’Neil.

Titus Worldwide as they like to call themselves, have had the upper hand over the champs over the last few weeks, so it will be interesting to see what happens.

There isn’t a lot more to say about this match, as it isn’t the best match the Bar could have had, maybe Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson would have been a better choice opponents.

Who Wins?

I have to say Sheamus and Cesaro, as I do not see the point in putting the belts on Crews and O’Neil.

They could have chosen better opponents for Sheamus and Cesaro, but clearly thought this was the best possible match.

It’s hard to say much more, not the most attractive match up for a fan to watch, to say the least.

2018 WWE Elimination Chamber – Male’s Elimination Chamber Match – Winner faces Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania – Predictions & Thoughts

The male Elimination Chamber match will feature seven superstars for the first time ever.

Many people are reporting that Roman Reigns will win this match and then face Universal Champion, Brock Lesnar, at Wrestlemania.

Last week on RAW the seven superstars in the match competed in a Gauntlet match on RAW, that was the longest ever match on RAW lasting roughly on hours and 50 minutes, with Braun Strowman eventually winning the match.

With Strowman winning that match, it seems like he won’t win this one, as him winning that shows that he can beat the other seven wrestlers.

Seth Rollins lasted over an hour in that match, so he may not feature for as long in this match.

Who Wins?

As much as I want it to be Strowman, I don’t think that it will be.

I also will not be picking Reigns, as I do not want to be predictable.

So to avoid being boring, Seth Rollins will be my pick for this match, as I think after last week on RAW he gained the respect of many people across the globe.

I think Rollins would be a great choice to win the title at Wrestlemania, as he hasn’t been pushed that well in a while now.

2018 WWE Elimination Chamber – First ever Women’s Elimination Chamber Match – RAW Women’s Championship Match – Predictions & Thoughts

On Sunday night, we will see the first ever Women’s Elimination Chamber match, as the women make history once again.

Alexa Bliss had been saying in recent weeks how it was unfair that the Universal Champion, Brock Lesnar, did not have defend his title, but she did.

This thought was shared by many of the fans, who agreed with Bliss’ statement on RAW a few weeks ago.

Many rumours are saying that Bliss will retain the title, which will mean she goes into Wrestlemania as a champion for the second year in a row.

Many fans are not happy as she hasn’t defended the title in months, but that is the fault of the WWE creative team, rather than Bliss.

The winner will face either Nia Jax, Asuka or both at Wrestlemania.

Who Wins?

For me Bliss should retain, as for me she is the best wrestler in that group of women.

Bayley and Banks will probably have a moment in the match where one of them turns on the other one, which will potentially set up a match for Wrestlemania in just over a months time.

Mickie James will probably help Bliss through the match, only for the heel to turn on her right at the end to eliminate her and win the match.

Deville and Rose may also turn on each other, but as of yet it is hard to see what WWE would do with those two if that were too happen, as neither have really done much on RAW yet. It would also make people wonder what would happen with Paige.

 

2018 WWE Elimination Chamber – Asuka v Nia Jax – Predictions & Thoughts

The undefeated Asuka will face Nia Jax at the Elimination Chamber, despite there being the first ever women’s Elimination Chamber match.

There have been many rumours in recent weeks that this match could be Asuka’s first loss in WWE.

Some people are reporting Jax will face Alexa Bliss at Wrestlemania, meanwhile Asuka will face Charlotte Flair of Smackdown Live.

It is worth noting that, as the winner of the first ever women’s Royal Rumble match, Asuka could face either champion and had yet to say which one she would prefer to face, so if Jax wins maybe she will go for Charlotte as the odds would be more in her favour than a triple threat match.

Who Wins?

This is a very tough call, as we have no idea what could happen in this match.

Asuka is undefeated, but Jax is hard to beat so it will be intriguing to see who gets the win in this match-up.

I think I will go for Jax to win, as the rumours seem to make perfect since if Asuka were to lose this match and also Charlotte v Asuka would be a very good match at WWE’s biggest show of the year.

2018 WWE Elimination Chamber – Matt Hardy v Bray Wyatt – Predictions & Thoughts

Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt have had an ongoing feud on RAW for months now, even having a match on the RAW 25 show, which was won by Wyatt in a pretty quick match-up.

Many thought that once Hardy was given the rights to his broken character that he would excel and go higher up the card, but that doesn’t appear to be the cause, up to now as least anyway.

It seems that over the past few years WWE aren’t sure what to do with Wyatt, whether to push him or keep him as a mid-card competitor.

Just one year ago, in this exact pay-per-view, Wyatt won the Elimination Chamber match to become the WWE Champion whilst he was on Smackdown Live.

With Wyatt already having a win over Hardy, will WWE give Hardy the win this time to even it out a bit, or will they bury Hardy even more by giving Wyatt the win.

Who Wins?

I have to go for Hardy on this.

As a big fan of his broken character in Impact Wrestling, I believe that if he is given creative freedom with the character it would be something great, however it remains to be seen whether he will get given it, so he can push the character on to the next level.

A loss for Wyatt wouldn’t damage his character massively, but it would not be ideal and that would mean he would most likely have to win his next feud, whoever that may be against.

WWE Mixed Match Challenge – Round One – Charlotte Flair & Bobby Roode v Nia Jax & Apollo Crews – Predictions

Tuesday night sees the final round one match of the Mixed Match Challenge, as Charlotte Flair and Bobby Roode take on Nia Jax and Apollo Crews.

Who Wins?

I think Charlotte Flair and Bobby Roode are going to win this match.

Match Predictions

I think Crews will be the one pinned in this match-up, as Flair is Smackdown Womens Champion, Roode US Champion and Jax is apparently going to beat Asuka and challenge Alexa Bliss for the RAW Womens’s Title at Wrestlemania.

Crews is a good competitor, but at this present time he is not getting a push, so it makes sense for him to lose this match-up.

Roode won his first title on the main roster on the last Smackdown show before the Royal Rumble and looks set to feud with Randy Orton for that belt.

Flair has been pushed in recent months and despite not being in the best of feuds with the Riott squad at the moment, it appears that she will keep the title until at least Wrestlemania.

If Jax does beat Asuka people would be shocked, but then she would most likely get a huge push on her way to facing Alexa Bliss for the title at Mania.

Unfortunately Josh is busy with his Uni work, so is unable to give his predictions for the matches this week.

WWE Mixed Match Challenge – Round One – Rusev & Lana v Elias & Bayley – Predictions

The next matches in the Mixed Match Challenge, sees Husband and Wife duo Rusev and Lana take on Bayley and Elias.

Jack’s Predictions

Who Wins?

I think that Bayley and Elias will win this, thought I wouldn’t be surprised if Rusev and Lana do, as Smackdown are due more winners.

Match Predictions?

I think that this match will be one mainly contested by Rusev and Elias, as we still do not know how ring ready Lana is.

I also think that Lana may be the one to be pinned in this match, as there is no real momentum behind her character at the minute.

Cannot see the crowd loving the match, however they will get behind the Rusev Day chants, per usual.

Josh’s Predictions

Who Wins?

Elias and Bayley v Rusev and Lana. Well… I think this can go both ways to be honest and for two different reasons, but with the momentum for Elias, I’ll give it to them

Match Prediction?

Bayley and Elias should probably win this one based upon current form and who is on top at the moment and who should really be getting pushed.

The fan reaction at the moment for Rusev is something that WWE cannot really ignore for much longer, and it should be pushed in the MMC first, but it’s something that I cannot see them doing, as we know they aren’t exactly the best at pushing fan favourites at the moment.

I love what they’re doing with Elias, and he’s one of my favourite heels on the roster at the moment.

Bayley could be doing more given her talent, but they don’t have much on for her at the moment.

WWE Mixed Match Challenge Round One – Naomi & Jimmy Uso v Goldust & Mandy Rose – Predictions

Tuesday night, Wednesday morning for us in the UK, sees the next episode of the Mixed Match Challenge.

Last week saw Alexa Bliss and Braun Strowman emerge victorious over Sami Zayn and Becky Lynch, but this weeks sees Naomi and Jimmy Uso compete against Mandy Rose and Goldust

Smackdown are yet to see a victory over RAW in this tournament yet, but this week could be their best chance to do so.

Jack’s Predictions

Who Wins?

I can only see a victory for Jimmy Uso and Naomi here.

Predictions?

For this match I think that both Jimmy Uso and Naomi are better than their counterparts.

Goldust and Rose haven’t done anything of note lately, where as Jimmy is a current tag-team champion, and Naomi was Smackdown Live’s Women’s champion in the past six months or so.

I’m not really sure what to expect from this match.

I could possibly see Goldust acting a bit silly and taking the match as a joke to make the crowd laugh.

I don’t see Rose and Goldust having much joy at all though in the match, and we are due some Smackdown Live winners sooner rather than later.

Josh’s Predictions

Who wins?

Jimmy Uso and Naomi will get the win here.

Predictions?

There’s a bit of doubt in my mind with Mandy Rose but I just feel the team of Jimmy and Naomi, there’s got to be a win for them.

Naomi is a former Women’s Champion and needs recognition for that, but she has been a little underused in recent weeks.

With the Usos being tag-team champions at the minute and wrestling so well, I’ve got to give it to them.

Royal Rumble 2018 – The Main Event – Predictions

This Sunday is the stage for the Royal Rumble match and one that again and as per usual has Wrestlemania implications

In preparation for the Rumble match, myself and Jack have predictions on who will win, with the two of us going in different directions this time.

who wins?

Jack’s pick for the Rumble is Shinsuke Nakamura. A good pick I’d say, however, I hate saying this but I think it’s the way they’re going, and I have reasons; my pick is the one and only Big Dog, Roman Reigns

thoughts

Just going through the people who have bee confirmed for the rumble at the time of writing.

Xavier Woods probably won’t do much, might stay in for a little while but no more than 10 minutes I’d say, definitely won’t be winning it.

Kofi Kingston again I cant see winning it, he’ll be in for a while and again some amazing way of staying in the match will happen which will make for some good entertainment though I’m sure.

Big – E Is the most likely member of The New Day to be in the match for a while but again, due to the team they are in, I can’t see any of them winning.

Tye Dillinger enters at 10? Yeah, I can see them doing that gag again, not on much of a roll at the moment, might have a good showing of himself, but I’m not holding much hope.

Apollo Crews and Titus O’Neil have been on a bit of a roll on Raw so I can see them getting a couple of eliminations but then an attempt from one to eliminate the other will ruin the momentum and they’ll go out around the same time.

Rusev and Aiden English. I can see the entry being a good one but I don’t think English will last very long, Rusev, however, could and could be one of the final few if WWE uses him right.

Bray Wyatt. I’d love to see him win this match, he’s such a good wrestler and his gimmick suits him oh so well, but the feud with Woken Matt Hardy will probably cause him to go out.

Matt I think will do quite well when he is in, and the fans will get behind him but like what I said with Bray, that feud will cause the end of this match for the both of them in my opinion.

Baron Corbin. If this was a few months ago I’d have said he could go far in this match, but as of late WWE seem to not be behind he anywhere near as much as they previously were. He’ll get a few eliminations, but I can’t see WWE giving him one of the final spots.

Elias’s guitar is for sure getting involved when he comes in, and I think he’s been really good on Raw in recent weeks and so deserves a good showing in this match.

The Miz, can’t see much happening in this one for The Miz, he’s got the IC belt back and I can’t see WWE giving him the win when he has that belt already.

Having won the match last year Randy Orton probably won’t win it again this year but I can see him being there around the end of the match in the final few.

Finn Balor needs a good showing here, it’ll be his first rumble if I’m not mistaken having missed last year’s due to injury, and having recently turned heel he needs to show that this was good for him, he needs to be one of the last.

Big Match John is another one I cant see winning but I can see doing well because it’s John Cena. He needs a good account of himself, especially seen as he’s still going for that record-setting title reign, but I can’t see this happening yet.

Shinsuke should probably win this, he’s the kind of guy that could win and needs it at the moment as he’s been a little lacking since his promotion to the main roster. if AJ retains as well this sets us up for that dream match between AJ and Shinsuke for the WWE title at WrestleMania, all the signals point to a Shinsuke win…

However…

Roman. He’s not won it for a couple of years now, and we all know how WWE feels about their golden boy so I can see him winning just for that reason alone. But, for years the WWE has wanted Brock vs Roman at mania with Roman coming out on top, and they have just taken the Intercontinental Title off him, leaving his PPV schedule a lot more open, and, Brock’s contract is up soon so this could be their last chance for this match. The Big Dog could most definitely stake a claim to his yard yet again this Sunday night.

Royal Rumble 2018 – AJ Styles vs Kevin Owens And Sami Zayn – WWE Championship – Prediction And Thoughts

This Sunday the WWE Title is on the line in a two on one handicap match with there being a very real possibility of the first-ever joint WWE Champion.

AJ has been brilliant in all of this, as you’d expect, it is AJ Styles.

Who Wins?

AJ Styles to retain the WWE Title after a misunderstanding between Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.

Thoughts

This match is undoubtedly going to be a good one. AJ couldn’t have a bad match if he tried, and Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are two of the best workers currently in the company, so it can’t really go badly in terms of how good the match will be.

AJ Styles has been under pressure in recent weeks to perform due to pressure from the two challengers and Smackdown Live GM Daniel Bryan putting him in tight situations, but as you’d expect, he came through with flying colours, that’s how good he is, despite a loss Sami Zayn, he still looked great, that’s just how  good he is.

Kevin Owens could have some trouble going into this match as he injured his leg on Smackdown Live last Tuesday, and so this could be an issue, especially with the calf crusher being AJ’s go to submission. I also feel it will be Kevin to spring an issue between the two as he is more likely to be the one who would split up a pin because he want’s t be the one to pin AJ, and that’s exactly how I can see the match going down.

Sami Zayn has been good for a while now, stretching back to even before his heel turn, and I can’t see much different from him coming in this match, and I can see the majority of the match being AJ Styles vs Sami Zayn due to the knee injury Kevin has suffered, which I have no issue with, as I feel all three in this match will be great.

Again Smackdown could have a match of the night contender here.

Royal Rumble 2018 – The Usos vs Chad Gable And Shelton Benjamin – Smackdown Live Tag Team Titles – Predictions

At the Rumble, The Usos will defend their belts against the up and coming Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin.

In past weeks Shelton and chad have come close to the belts and could come out on top this Sunday

Who Wins?

The Usos. Simple as that, they need to retain, they’ve been so good in recent weeks and those belts just need to stay where they are

Thoughts

The last few matches between these teams, whether in singles or tag competition have been brilliant to put it lightly, so I can’t see this one being much different.

The Usos have been on a tear really ever since they turned eel, and I can’t recall them having put on a bad match, and so they really do deserve to be where they are the moment, and I wouldn’t have in any other way.

Chad and Benjamin have been good recently too, they just don’t seem to have the charisma needed to carry the belts, which is a shame because they are both fantastic wrestlers, but the fans just aren’t getting behind them, and I don’t think WWE trust them to carry the belts or to be the ones to dethrone The Usos.

I can see this match being one of the best on the card despite it inevitably being one of the first, and I honestly can’t wait to see this one.

Royal Rumble 2018 – The FIRST EVER Women’s Royal Rumble – Predictions

Sunday night sees the FIRST EVER Women’s Royal Rumble match in the WWE.

With that in mind, both myself and Josh have picked our winner for the match, and we are both in agreement.

Who Wins?

Both Josh and myself think that Becky Lynch will be the winner of the first ever Women’s Royal Rumble match.

Thoughts

With there not being 30 active female performers on the female roster, we can expect some NXT callups, and also some legends returning for this match.

Myself and Josh’s predictions is in regard to who has been announced for the match so far.

Many people seem to think that Asuka will win the match, but even if she doesn’t win this match, she still won’t have been pinned.

Maybe someone eliminates her who she will end up being in a feud with for the run up to Wrestlemania.

I think Nia Jax will have a strong outing, but she may get eliminated by a returning legend, or by a group of the competitors.

Sasha Banks may also have a strong outing, but I feel she needs to turn heel sooner rather than later.

Carmella may be another one pushed given she gets a Championship match whenever she wants as she is Ms Money In The Bank.

I don’t think the Riott squad will be pushed as much as they have been since they joined the main brands, but I think they will get a couple of eliminations between them.

Bayley seems to have no momentum at all at present, so I wouldn’t be surprised if she is one of those Nia Jax eliminates.

Naomi is another one with not much momentum behind her.

Natalya may do pretty well, but I can’t see her winning it all.

I don’t see Absolution doing much, as Paige is no longer involved in the match.

Mickie James may be one of those who start the match, given she is one of those who has been at WWE since the early 2000’s.

I can see Tamina getting a couple of eliminations, and maybe a face-off with Nia Jax teasing a future match.

WWE seems to have given up on Lana so I don’t think they will help her in this match, and she may also be a quick elimination.

Dana Brooke and Alicia Fox will also be ones who may be eliminated quickly.

Royal Rumble 2018 – Braun Strowman v Brock Lesnar v Kane – Universal Championship – Predictions

On Sunday night the Universal Championship will be on the line, as Brock Lesnar defends against Braun Strowman and Kane.

Strowman has been on top against the two others in recent weeks on RAW.

Who Wins?

As much as I would like Strowman to win, you just know WWE are going to let Lesnar retain the belt.

Thoughts

Strowman is the one out of these three who most deserves to be the Universal Champion right now.

Strowman has established himself as one of the most popular performers on RAW, with the WWE Universe a huge fan of Strowman.

Lesnar appears on RAW about once a month, and that simply isn’t good enough for someone who is meant to be the best superstar on RAW, he should be appearing more often.

Kane just seems like the person in this match who will take the pinfall, as he seems to be back for the short term, rather than the long term future.

Apparently WWE already have their sights on a Roman Reigns v Lesnar main event at Wrestlemania, a match basically nobody wants to see.

If they keep not putting the belt on Strowman, there’s only so many losses he can take in these matches before people start to make a mockery out of him.

Royal Rumble 2018 – Sheamus & Cesaro v Seth Rollins & Jason Jordan – RAW Tag-Team Championships – Predictions

On Sunday night, Seth Rollins and Jason Jordan will defend their tag-team titles against Sheamus and Cesaro.

The bar have suffered consecutive losses to Titus Worldwide in the last few weeks on RAW.

Who Wins?

I think Sheamus and Cesaro will surprise a few people here and reclaim their titles, possibly seeing either Rollins or Jordan turning on each other too.

Thoughts

Sheamus and Cesaro suffering back to back defeats on RAW may set it up for people to think they will lose, and they will end up surprised by what happens when the Bar do win.

We saw it a few years ago, Michelle McCool retire after losing to Layla, despite Layla looking a lot weaker in the feud.

Cannot see the Rollins and Jordan partnership lasting for long, as the WWE Universe clearly love Rollins and dislike Jordan.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Rollins and Jordan retain, but I do not think that Sheamus and Cesaro will turn on each other.

WWE Mixed Match Challenge Round One – Alexa Bliss & Braun Strowman v Becky Lynch & Sami Zayn – Predictions

On Tuesday night, immediately after Smackdown Live, sees the next episode of the Mixed Match Challenge.

This week RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss and her partner Braun Strowman, take on Becky Lynch and Sami Zayn.

Jack Predictions

Who Wins?

This is a very, very tight one to call, but I am going to go with Alexa Bliss and Braun Strowman.

Match Predictions?

As I previously said, this should be a very tight match, given that there are four very good wrestlers involved in the match.

I can see Strowman v Zayn being where the fight is won and lost, as Vince will most likely want to make Strowman look even more powerful than what he already is.

If Lynch wins the Royal Rumble, then maybe they might want to make her look very strong, so they may make her beat Bliss, given that Bliss doesn’t seem to have won a singles match in quite a few weeks now, losing to Asuka a few weeks ago too.

One thing that I think would be cool to see, would be the Twisted Bliss from on top of Strowman’s shoulders.

Josh’s Predictions 

Who Wins?

Strowman and Bliss, simple as that. There’s really little else to say. The match has to go that way.

Match Predictions?

Bliss is the RAW Women’s Champion and so needs to go over Lynch.

Lynch does seem to be getting pushed for the Women’s Rumble though, so she should probably be able to stand up to Bliss for large portions of the match.

Then, Braun Smash.

Zayn is great, and is turning out to be a great heel.

But…well…Strowman will kill him.

Strowman is being pushed as a possible winner for the Triple Threat for the Universal Title, and so he will go over in this match.

An that will be the end of it.

Bliss and Strowman definitely going over in this one.

NXT Takeover Philadelphia – Andrade Cien Almas v Johnny Gargano – Prediction

Who Will Win?

Yet again, another tough one to predict, but I am going for Almas, as I think Gargano’s going up to the main roster.

Thoughts?

As I previously said, I think this will be Gargano’s last match in NXT, as he is ready for the main roster now.

I think this will be up there with one of the best matches of the event, as Gargano is another one of those wrestlers who can make a great match out of nothing.

I think Almas has to retain, simply because they’ve finally gave him a push, and for him to lose the title after just one Takeover, it would look like it was pointless to push him in the first place.

Zelina Vega may also have a big role to play in this match too, if she is at ringside.

Maybe we will get a surprise appearance from latest WWE signing, and Gargano’s real-life wife, Candice LeRae.

NXT Takeover: Philadelphia – Aleister Black v Adam Cole – Prediction

Who Wins?

Another very tight match, but I’m going for Black.

Thoughts?

I think this will be the match of the night.

Black always seems to have special matches at Takeover’s.

They will also want to book Cole somewhat strongly too, so he can be an NXT Champion in the future.

I can see this match lasting the best part of half an hour, given there aren’t a lot of matches on the show for the amount of time there is.

There will most likely be some form of interference, given that Cole is part of a heel faction.

Think Black will eventually hit the Black Mass that will get him the win.

NXT Takeover: Philadelphia – The Undisputed Era v The Authors of Pain – Prediction

Who Will Win?

Very, very tough one to call. I will go with the Undisputed Era, as I think AOP will get a call-up to the main roster sooner rather than later.

Thoughts?

I think that this will be a good and long match.

AOP are a very good tag-team, and they have been teased to go up to the main roster for a while now.

Undisputed Era won the tag titles off SAnitY a few weeks ago, and I would be surprised if they lost them so early on in their title reign, even though they are facing the Authors of Pain.

I would not be surprised if Adam Cole interfered at some point in this match, to help the Undisputed Era retain their titles.

If the Authors of Pain are to go up after this match, it will be interesting to see which roster they are put on.

NXT Takeover: Philadelphia – Shayna Baszler v Ember Moon – Prediction

Who Will Win?

I have never seen Baszler fight before, so for that reason I’m going for Ember Moon to retain.

Thoughts?

As I previously said, I have never seen a Baszler fight before, so I don’t have a clue what to expect from her.

I don’t think that the WWE Universe would react too well should Baszler win the title in her first TV match.

If Baszler does win, I think we can expect Moon to go up to the main roster, possibly alongside the Iconic Duo, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce.

It is very hard for me to comment on this match, as if Baszler had wrestled more on TV before it would be easier to do so.

NXT Takeover: Philadelphia – Velveteen Dream v Kassius Ohno – Prediction

Who Will Win?

I cannot see anything but a Velveteen Dream win in this match.

Thoughts?

When Ohno came back there was a lot of hype, as he had done well on the independent scene.

It seems that his triumphant return has been short lived though, as he has only had one title shot since he returned, which he lost, and hasn’t been on TV a lot since.

Given that Ohno has wrestled in NXT before, maybe there is a chance he could go up to the main roster after this match with what little momentum his character has behind him.

I don’t think this will be the longest of matches, like with Lars Sullivan v Ohno at the previous pay-per-view it will probably be between five to ten minutes.

The match seems like a bit of a last minute idea as well, as Dream was competing for the chance to main event the pay-per-view just before the match was made.

WWE Mixed Match Challenge Round One – Big E & Carmella v Asuka & The Miz – Predictions

Next Tuesday, immediately after Smackdown Live, sees the second round of the Mixed Match Challenge, as Big E and Carmella face Asuka and the Miz.

Yet again myself and Josh will be giving both of our opinions for the match.

Jack’s Predictions

Who Wins?

I think that it will be a tight match, but I can see Asuka being the key factor in the match, with her being undefeated. So by saying that Miz and Asuka win.

Match Prediction?

As I previously said, I can see this being a very tight match as all the competitors in the match seem pretty strong.

Miz has looked strong since his return a few weeks back, and could even be the Intercontinental Champion by the time the match takes place.

Asuka is still undefeated, therefore it will be interesting too see what happens if her team loses.

Carmella is Miss Money in the bank!

And Big E is a heavyweight who would add power to any team that he is on.

I can see the Miz and Big E part being interesting because you don’t know which one of the male stars they would rather put over.

Carmella v Asuka would be interesting, but I would be surprised should Carmella be the one who ends the undefeated streak.

Josh’s Predictions

The Miz and Asuka to win, simply because Asuka is undefeated and it needs to stay that way.

Match Predictions?

Miz being pinned would mean a loss on her record, and that’s not something that the story she’s in needs right now.

The match will most likely be quite a good one.

I can see a lot of domination from Big E just imposing himself on the Miz, tossing him around the ring and then a lot of dominance from Asuka, with her being such a hot property for WWE right now.

Carmella, I can see getting some shots in because she has the briefcase and that needs to be made more of, and she needs to look like she can hold her own in the match.

Same with the Miz, as he’s in for the Intercontinental Title at RAW 25.

I can see their rallies in the match being short lived, and Asuka picking up the pinfall or submission victory over Carmella.

WWE Mixed Match Challenge Round One – Shinsuke Nakamura & Natalya v Finn Balor & Sasha Banks – Predictions

Next Tuesday night sees the beginning of the Mixed Match Challenge, immidietly after Smackdown Live, although us UK viewers will have to wait until 3am on Friday morning to get to see it.

Both myself and Josh will be giving our opinions on all of the matches in the Mixed Match Challenge

The first match-up sees Sasha Banks and Finn Balor taking on Natalya and Shinsuke Nakamura.

Jack’s Predictions

Who Wins?

I think that the winners of this match will be Finn Balor and Sasha Banks.

Match Prediction?

I think this has the potential to be a pretty decent match, but if the 20 minute time limit is true, then who knows if they will be able to put on a great match.

I think the crowd will get excited when Balor and Nakamura are in the ring together, as they are two of the top guys at the company, at present.

I think Natalya may be the one who either is pinned or submitted here, as since she lost the title to Charlotte, hasn’t really done anything noticeable.

To be fair you could counter that argument and say neither has Banks, but I don’t think WWE will want Nakamura or Balor to be pinned or submitted, unless one of them is trying to put the other guy over in their respective brand.

I think on paper Banks and Balor are slightly better than Natalya and Nakamura, that is why I have chosen them to win this bout, and advance to the second round of the tournament.

Josh’s Prediction

Who Wins?

Is that even a question?… Finn and Sasha. No question.

Match Prediction?

The match I think will be a good one.

Finn, Sasha and Nakamura don’t put on bad matches, and Natty is good, but even better with great wrestlers, so I don’t think this will be a match where she is under-used.

I do think that the women will take centre stage for this one, because of how big of a deal Balor v Nakamura is.

I think Balor v Nakamura will be used in a different storyline, further on down the line, when there is a bigger general audience.

Balor and his current heel turn is something too important for WWE to screw up, and a loss here is something that Balor cannot have on his record.

Natalya and Nakamura don’t have much going for themselves currently on Smackdown Live as it is, and because of this the Balor Club coming out on top is the best bet.
